SCC is leading the way in the most important science communication mission of our times: raising awareness of global climate change. SCC principal Jim Sweitzer is among the 800 individuals chosen by the Climate Project in 2007 to receive intensive training on the subject by former Vice President Al Gore. As a Climate Project spokesperson, Jim has addressed hundreds of museum professionals, business leaders, scientists, engineers, theologians, economists, politicians, students and concerned citizens. His goal is to impart a scientific understanding of the subject and to suggest ways that the individual and organizations can contribute to a solution. SCC is committed to helping museums, educational institutions and businesses create educational programming to foster climate literacy and encourage sustainable change.
